Barbour

Established in 1894 by John Barbour in the North East of England, Barbour is a 5th generation family-owned British company built on the founding principles of quality, attention to detail, durability and being fit for purpose.

From the beginning and throughout their history, Barbour have always been committed to the welfare, health and safety of all their employees and suppliers and to delivering socially and environmentally responsible products to our customers. Barbour is a responsible and ethical manufacturer and retailer. Through their own sustainability programme, Barbour is committed to extending the life of the garments and designing products that will minimise their impact on the environment.

Their famous wax jackets were first used by people who worked in harbours and later even by navy men. This shows that Barbour makes extremely durable clothes. Barbour has also won the Best Shooting Clothing Product at the IPC Shooting Awards a few times.

Although they source products from around the globe, some of Barbour's classic wax jackets are still manufactured and repaired by hand in the factory in Simonside.
