Stratos mask is the generic hygienic protection mask that la sportiva has designed for daily use and for wear during the practice of outdoor sports in the coexistence phase with the covid-19 virus.

To limit the spread of the Coronavirus in fact, each of us must wear a mask in order to avoid inadvertently passing the virus on to other people. Stratos Mask wraps the wearer’s face, avoiding the dispersion of saliva droplets that could potentially contain the virus. The La Sportiva Stratos Mask is ideal for daily use and for sports activities thanks to the enhanced comfort and ease of replacing the filter. The purpose of an outdoor mask is to protect and stop the saliva droplets coming out to avoid proximity contamination. It should be remembered that in the mountains the possible transmission of the virus can also occur vertically: in a situation of altitude difference the saliva droplets are not released only in the wake but also in the fall to those under us: always wear the mask is the best way to avoid transmission.

Viraloff by Polygiene antiviral and antibacterial treatment

All further components of the mask are treated with Viraloff by Polygiene which guarantees the elimination of 99% of viruses and bacteria in less than 2 hours (ISO 18184). This allows to have a mask that is always clean every time you wear it. Thanks to the Viraloff treatment, it is not necessary to wash the mask after each use.

Interchangeable polypropylene filter

A single-layer filter, certified for bacterial filtration is inserted inside the Stratos Mask. It is easily replaceable thanks to the comfortable straps. It allows to filter about 99% of bacteria and viruses emitted by the mouth, exactly as required for surgical masks according to EN ISO 14683:2019 standards.

When to replace the filter?

It is advisable to replace the filter daily, and even more frequently in the case of intense use such as a sports activity or use for several consecutive hours at work.
In case of heavy use La Sportiva recommends a replacement approximately every 4 hours. The mask is a lasting accessory: it can be washed several times. It should be noted that the Viraloff anti-bacterial treatment will gradually decrease over time due to normal wear and tear of materials after washing.

Washing

The STRATOS MASK can be hand or machine washed at 40 °C, after carefully removing the filter and the elastic laces. The possibility of washing makes the mask long-lasting and contributes to the reduction of waste compared to disposable masks, however it is advisable that even after washing, Stratos Mask is used for exclusive personal use only, avoiding passing it on to other people, even family members. Dry cleaning is strongly discouraged.
