An updated Contagrip® Sole has wider lugs for more ground contact, and a pronounced break in front of the heel for climbing ladders and descending hills.

The image does not show Salomon's new solution for the drawstring, which I think was a little more clumsy than the previous one, but you will see that later. That may be partly just because I am not used to the new system.
I have been using this shoe model as my main shoes for about 10 years. The shoes are great for active activities. They look great in black too. In this latest model, the opening of the shoes has been narrowed. Before, when it was flatter, the problem in the forest was that the shoe collected debris like a funnel. I would think that problem is less now.
The shoes have lasted about two years with more active use than average. Then the sole of one of them cracked at the ball of the foot, towards where the foot bends.| Overall rating |
