I bought the Salomon Quest 4D GTX Forces 2 EN as a replacement, mainly because I wanted a higher shaft. The Lowa is much more sneaker-like compared to the Salomon. It feels lighter and more flexible, and running is easy. The sole is thinner/loose and the terrain feels more like a glove than the Salomon. This means that the grip in winter weather is a bit worse.| Overall rating |
The best hiking boots I've ever had! Good for walking, flexible enough, the membrane works great, doesn't let water through. I was able to walk in these for four rainy days without getting wet. The lacing is excellent. The sole has good grip even in wet and snow, even though this is not a winter shoe. I switched from Meindel to these and haven't regretted it.| Overall rating |
These are my first choice of boots for military-oriented activities. The boots do not need to be broken in, you can go on a long hike on the first day. I recommend purchasing separately ordered Lowa warm insoles for the winter. The new model has a lace lock in the middle, which ensures that the ankle joint is firmly fixed and at the same time there is less pressure on the foot. The order from the Varuste e-shop will arrive at the parcel machine in Estonia in less than a week!

Very good and sturdy shoes. The MK2 version has some real improvements over the MK1 version, for example, lace locks in the middle and a pocket for the laces. I personally like these standard hiking shoes with a wider heel that provides better support. The Zephyr model has a softer sole than the Z-8 model, with more grooves. This increases grip in frost and snow, because the Z-8 shoes are really slippery in snow and frost, the Zephyrs are not nearly as slippery.
The medium-length shaft provides good support. I have the light color, which is a bit sensitive to dirt, but stylish.
