Designed for comfort with extra room at the forefoot – a lightweight leather hiking boot made with Hanwags special Hallux Valgus `Bunion´ Last.
Supportive, comfortable footwear free from discomfort – unfortunately this is not the reality for many women hikers with bunions. This is where the Alta Bunion II leather hiking boot comes in. It was made especially for women with a hallux valgus thanks to its Bunion Last. The last provides extra space around the base joint of the big toe and the forefoot. Together with optimised stitching in this area, the additional room ensures pain-free hiking comfort. In addition, a reinforced PU foam wedge offers cushioning shock absorbency for smooth roll-off performance. And the combination of durably waterproof GORE-TEX lining and high-quality nubuck leather upper makes the Alta Bunion II a comfortable and reliable partner for hikes in terrain ranging from flatter regions to easier hut-to-hut tours in the Alps.

Received the answer that I could send them back. I did. After 1.1/2 weeks I received a message that it was a factory error. And I received new shoes. What a service, thank you. I am now using them on holiday in the Dolomites. No blisters. A 10, gentlemen. Thank you Thea Rousch.

— Show originalThe vavisenluu model really lives up to its promise, the shoe is wide as hell! I wondered a little what the point of making a tapered tip is, when the seam of the outer edge hits the little toe. Probably a matter of appearance. A leather shoe naturally stretches a little with use, and this has not become a problem. I ordered my standard size, and the shoe is just right for one sock. An additional wool sock requires a size larger. The insole is removable and I use my own support insole. To get there, you had to use your fingernail to scrape off a lump of glue from the inner sole. The inner sole looks like cardboard, but so far it is completely intact and clean, even though they are in daily use. The sole, which is softer than the Tatra model, feels like a sturdy sneaker.
