I bought this for general use as a wind shield with a different kettle. Works, withstands folding and the length is enough to go around even a bigger pot. The foil has holes that are probably in optimal places for the Optimus cooker. Their usefulness varies depending on what you are cooking with, but they are not harmful at all.
