Comfort and performance provided by nature itself, that’s the idea behind Houdini's pure merino wool Desoli Series. Men's Desoli Shirt exists where tailoring meets performance: Cut in a minimalistic and timeless form with hidden superpowers provided by the pure merino wool.
Men's Desoli Shirt is made in Solid Flannel Merino, a soft and warm woven fabric made with nothing but pure 17,5 μm merino wool. The 193 g/m² weight puts it in the mid weight category, perfect for use in fall, winter and spring but also for a little extra warmth on a summer night. The superfine merino wool feels fantastic against the skin and the natural antibacterial properties help the garment stay fresh longer. The unblended wool also makes the garment circular, which means that when your Desoli base layer is worn out, it can be recycled or even composted.
Men's Desoli Shirt has a buttoned chest pocket, classic buttoned sleeve endings and a side split for extra comfort and a better fit. In many ways, Men's Desoli Shirt will give you what you expect from a flannel shirt: It’s warm, comfy and works for just about any activity all year around. But with the added functionality of the 100% pure merino wool, this is much more of a performance garment and works beautifully in any technical layering system. You can even wear it next to your skin as a warm base layer.

Sustainability
Circular
The Circular label means that this product is made either from recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable fibers. Most products in today's society are made in a linear lifecycle, where earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This is not working in the long run and comes at a great environmental impact. Instead, oudini wants to close the loop and reuse the material we already have. But Houdini needs your help. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to Houdini through the recycling units they have in all their own stores and at many retailers.
Recycled
The Recycled label means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothes or other sources like PET bottles. Houdini mainly use recycled polyester, which has many benefits. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. How much depends on the type of recycling. One of Houdinis suppliers show 32% less CO2 emissions and 94% less water use for mechanically recycled polyester. Besides the production impact, the major shift is using "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The Recyclable label means that the raw material in this product can be used for new products, instead of becoming waste. Houdinis goal is that by 2030, they will take no raw material to their products from the earth's crust. Circular products, made from reycled and recyclable materials are a real game changer, but Houdini need syour help for the system to work. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to Houdini. They have recycle units in all of their own stores and at many retailers.
Care instructions
Wool is a fantastic material with natural bacterial and dirt resistance. Therefore, wool does not need to be washed after every use. Frequent washing has a negative effect on the wool's properties and unnecessarily wears down the garment. Instead, air your wool garments to reduce your water usage, save energy and make your garments last longer.
- Use a washing bag to protect your garments.
- Machine gentle wash at max 30 degrees, preferably with a wool program.
- If you can, use wool detergents. Otherwise use mild, environmentally certified detergents and make sure to use the right dose. Select a detergent that has a neutral pH and no enzymes.
- Avoid bleach and alkaline substances that raise the pH value. Also avoid enzymes such as protease or amylase since these can break down wool, which give this material its natural performance properties. This also applies to silk.
- Avoid fabric softener. Besides being harmful for our environment, they have a negative impact on the garment performance, mainly moisture transportation and breathability.
- Do not dry in tumble dryer.
- Shape the garment after washing and lay flat to dry.
- Wool is a natural and living material that can relatively easily be formed. Therefore, please store your wool garments folded and not on a hanger to avoid your garments losing shape.
