I bought the Fenix ​​HP30R V2.0 headlamp for winter hiking in the dark and it met all expectations perfectly. The most important requirements were that the battery case could be detached from the headband and slipped into a pocket with an extension cord to keep it warm. In addition, the battery compartment door is fastened with a metal hook, which increases reliability. The plastic bracket might break down more easily in the cold if the batteries have to be changed in freezing weather. The operating switch is extremely easy to use and works with fingers. The only small complaint comes from the fact that, at least when new, the adjustment switch is stiff enough that when you turn it counterclockwise, the angle of inclination of the lamp changes at the same time. This can be prevented by supporting the lighting part with one hand when adjusting the light output. It is said that at some point, an additional battery case sold separately will be added to the device. In this case, the batteries can be changed even more easily on the go, should the need arise. As a general rule, I used the light with the lowest power, in more difficult places with a notch higher, and for short-term sighting of the route with the highest.

For the first time, I bought a headlamp worth more than 100 euros. The offer price was 189 euros. I have used Fenix products before, so I was confident about the quality. The previous Fenix lamp produced max. 1600lm, and it also did quite well in night orientation, where the use of turbo mode is a maximum of 2 hours long. But yes, this HP30R V2.0 was once again a positive surprise! How easy it is to ride at night with this amount of light and range! And even though the weight doubled compared to the previous lamp, I have been able to use the lamp without an additional cord and housing. It was a real surprise! The heavier light head compensates the heavy battery part appropriately. Doesn't tighten the beanie :) The only minus so far has been that the support of the rubber cover of the charging plugs broke right away when shaking hands. So you have to make sure that the cover doesn't get lost at any point. I don't have the experience of a long hike with a lower light output yet, but I believe that this will work well in that use as well. I recommend!!!

Very good lighting. Several possibilities (narrow and powerful beam, or wide and diffuse, or a combination of both. Battery that lasts long. 2h outing in the forest with the most powerful combination, and barely 1/4 battery used. Battery a bit heavy.
