It is a product with good evaluation around it, so I think it would be good to use it when climbing a pure ice wall.

Super light weight which is great, but the rand started delaminating after just a couple of trips. For now, I've glued them back together.

Wow these boots climb welll! They can be a little cold if you’re stood around on a belay for a long time but your feet quickly warm up when you’re climbing again. They also walk more like a b1 than a b3.

Great for mixed climbing and the harder stuff, not enough support for all on pure ice. Pair with narrow toe bailed crampons to avoid breakages. Even the Petzl Fil Smalls could be smaller for the shoe.

Used for one week so far and working great. Despite being amazingly light, they are still warm enough for Scottish winter conditions. No issues with the fit, comfortable straight out of the box. No regrets.
I am an avid ice climber and have been climbing for more than 20 years. I have owned several La Sportiva boots and am a huge fan of the la sportiva brand. My partner and I recently purchased a pair of La Sportiva G-Tech boots, and we both absolutely love them. However, after only a week of climbing, the toe bails on both my boots and my partner’s boots have cracked and detached. It is not a cheap boot and I very disappointed. I’m quite sure that the cracking is due to a design or manufacturing defect and if La Sportive wants to keep the G-tech on the market they needs to come up with a stronger material for the toe bail.
Hi, so sorry to hear about this! Please contact us by email with more information and photos of the shoes if you suspect a manufacturing issue and we can look into it.
