The 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac™ VIII Headset helps protect your hearing and can help promote auditory situational
awareness and communication in challenging acoustical environments. Some versions are equipped with a downlead cable
for connection to a radio via a push-to-talk (PTT), and a noise cancelling speech microphone for communication in noise.

— Show originalUsed with headband for sports shooting, IPSC. Comfortable to wear, even on long days. With gel pads also fairly comfortable with goggles. Good cushioning. Good speech understanding even with a lot of ambient noise. Good direction perception.
The battery door feels like the part with the worst construction and the one that will give up first but haven't had any actual problems yet.
The only drawback I've encountered so far is that they can't be folded together cover to cover inside the headband, which means they take up more space in the range bag. Gives them a rating of AC overall.| Overall rating |

Exactly that you'd expect from a high end headset. Great sound quality and great situational awareness while protecting your hearing. I have had these on for hours on end at matches and found the headband to be quite comfortable over an extended period of time. I recommend replacing the factory foam cups with 3M HY80 gel cups.

This particular model isn't available for US sale yet however I am thankful for the EU based retailer offering decent international shipping to obtain this product. So far it functions and feels like a proper hearing defender headset. Although this is mainly for personal use and I've yet to put it under field and outdoor range conditions, I have a feeling it'll serve me well for the years to come.
