New for summer 2026: a packraft built for whitewater and pushing the pace.
Saimaa Kayaks Adventure Rapid – our top model for rapids
Saimaa Kayaks Adventure Rapid is the choice for paddlers who don’t dodge rapids—and who might even want to paddle upstream through them. The precisely engineered thigh strap system gives you a huge boost in leverage, edging control and boat handling. To keep the whitewater out, the raft comes with a spray deck (with cockpit opening) and a pull-on spray skirt.
With its 275 cm length and relatively narrow profile, the Adventure Rapid offers excellent tracking and efficient glide. That means confident control in moving water and comfortable cruising when the river calms down. Tracking is further improved by a stern-biased fin placement, positioned farther back than usual to reduce the risk of damage in rapids and to help avoid snagging debris.
Developed with an experienced Finnish paddler
Adventure Rapid was co-developed with a long-time Finnish paddler. We tested multiple prototypes, thigh strap placements and trim/balance setups before finalizing the design. The raft features four thigh-strap attachment points with multiple height and length adjustments, allowing you to dial in a locked-in fit and significantly improved power transfer through your legs. The adjustability also makes it easy to optimize the setup for different-sized paddlers.
The seat and the highly supportive, comfortable backrest use extra-long hook-and-loop and straps, so you can fine-tune your trim based on load and conditions. The package is topped off with an inflatable foot brace—resulting in a cockpit-like fit where you sit “locked in”, ready to drive the raft with precision (even when pushing upstream in fast water).
Storage, durability and rigging
Your gear can be carried in a waterproof, zippered TI-ZIP pontoon pocket, as well as secured on the bow and stern—including the waterproof carry bag the raft is delivered in, which can also be used as on-deck dry storage while paddling.
The recommended load for longer trips is 190 kg, giving you plenty of capacity for multi-day gear. The Adventure Rapid also includes bow and stern carry handles and eight external attachment loops along the outer sides of the tubes for custom rigging.
Built from extra-tough, tear-resistant materials, you can rely on it on demanding expeditions:

I want to start by admitting that this was my first experience with packrafting, but I am absolutely thrilled. It was truly a fantastic experience.
I started by unpacking and setting everything up in my living room to learn how it works. I would have liked better instructions on the best way to attach certain straps, for example, but after studying the photos of the packraft on the website, I managed to get everything in place.
My first trip was a two-day paddle on a lake, with an overnight stay on an island.
It was incredibly convenient to pack all my gear inside the packraft and keep only the essentials in the included dry bag mounted at the bow.
I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it glides through the water; I had expected it to be harder to paddle.
I didn't use the fin, but I had no trouble maintaining a good course anyway.
On day one, I paddled with the thigh straps for a while, but I didn't feel they added anything on flat water, even though I’d heard they provide better power transfer. I can imagine they’d be useful for whitewater, but not for flat water, so I’ve removed them now.
On day two, I used the spray skirt to keep the inside of the packraft as dry as possible; although it got a bit too warm, I was very pleased with how well it worked. Being able to keep cold water from the paddle out will significantly extend the season.
The packraft feels very well-made, though as I said, this is my first experience, so I have nothing to compare it to. Overall, I am extremely happy with it and hope to get out on the water again this week. It’s a very complete kit, including the packraft, spray deck, spray skirt, Tizip, footrest, dry bag, repair kit, and even thigh straps.
