A watch offering excellent value for money for sports and for tracking daily heart rate and training load data. The interface is familiar to long-time Garmin users, though there is a bit of a learning curve for some functions. It is comfortable to wear, fits even small wrists, and doesn't look too sporty for casual use—with the exception of a single neon-colored button. Battery life is excellent, GPS performance is flawless, and even the weather app stays synced without needing to be manually refreshed. It automatically offers workout suggestions based on training load and clearly displays the effects of things like illness or a well-rested night in its heart rate variability statistics. Surprisingly, it also works well as a swimming watch (though not for diving).
Not so surprisingly, gym workout tracking is really poor; it registers random inputs, invents exercises, and significantly underestimates recovery time. However, this is to be expected, as the watch is primarily designed for tracking aerobic exercise and the associated training load.
I don't need a flagship model or want to spend over three hundred on a watch, and this model provides exactly the features I need. Highly recommended.| Overall rating |
so far, so good!
