The Trangia Multifuel burner X2 is a fast and safe alternative that is particularly suitable in extreme weather conditions as very low temperatures. Most suitable for experienced users that spend time in demanding climates and environment.
A somewhat more complicated device to use than other burners because preheating and regular maintenance are required. This burner can be used with gas or oil based liquid fuel. Fits gas cartridges with Propane/Butane mixture. The valve is international standard, EN417 threaded valves (7/16 NS Lindal Valve). These cartridges are available in most countries around the world.
First choice of fuel to use should be cartridge gas, or high quality liqud fuel such as white gas, alkylate petrol or Primus Powerfuel. These fuels have the highest energy content, burn very cleanly and require the least cleaning and maintenance. Kerosene and diesel should only be used in an absolute emergency as they require a lot of cleaning afterwards. Regular 95 octane gasoline should never be used. Please note the quality of these fuels varies around the world.
Note! You can not use alcohol based fuel in this burner, only for preheating

If you want to use Trangia in winter when it's freezing, I think this is the only option that really works. However, the KAP-Arctic multi-fuel burner used by Trangia in the 90s was the RollsRoyce of all cookers alongside those of today - efficient, quiet and reliable. Today, they are valuable and sought after among those in the know. It's a real shame that it is no longer produced.
