This is my first hatchet. It is lightweight(which was why I purchased this particular model), but heavy enough to cut. Feels comfortable in my hand, and I am a woman. Nice hard plastic sheath included which is nice for packing. My only negative is that after testing it out cleaning my raspberry bushes, it already has several nicks in the blade- was surprised it didn't take long. Outside of that, I do like it and no regrets with my purchase!
