Third Meindls and second GTXs in a row. Despite heavy use, the construction lasts me about 10 years. Eventually the sole comes off its base so that it cannot be replaced. The heel is easy to repair. The shoemaker puts a wedge in it for a couple of decades when the heel is worn out. The Goretex membrane lasts the entire life of the shoe and your feet don't get wet, even if the shoe is wet on the outside for a day. It is stiff and made for rocky terrain. My experience is based on alpine trips, Finnish dangerous slopes, ridges and daily city walks. I like the stiffness and the fact that the shoe has a heel that raises your hip when walking. Doesn't tire you all day. The hardness of the Vibram sole of this model is hard. As a result, it is surprisingly slippery in winter snow. The only downside. I compare the hardness to Meindl's approach shoes, which have exactly the same Vibram, but so soft that you walk on them smooth in two years.

Good shoes to walk in and give good support to the ankle. A narrow last for a Finnish foot. It takes a while for the "foam" of the shoe to mold to the foot.

Decent shoes. Buy m (half) a size bigger though. Same size (old) Meindls are no guarantee these will fit as well.

Otherwise, the shoes fit really well, but the gluing of the stone edge failed both shoes on the first rainy day.

In Sarek, a one-week trip in different weather conditions and platforms worked great! Tried other hiking shoes and always return to Meindl shoes. Enough with the experiments.

A fantastic boot from day 1. Good sole with a good grip regardless of the surface and with good support for the ankle.

So far they have worked very well and are very comfortable.

This is my 3rd pair as they get heavy use but I love them. The ordering process was easy and although it was international post it was as quick on delivery as any domestic supplier!
