I tried the so-called hardware store spare parts, but the dimensions did not fit in the finished product. Instead of breaking small bolts, I humbled myself and ordered a few of these just in case. A working product, a bit pricey, but on the other hand, if I had ordered right away, the skis would have been in use a month earlier. The ties are good, but apparently they are no longer manufactured, so better to buy spare parts than to have to replace the whole set.
