There is a clear difference between the normal and the Paratrooper version in the length of the "wings" on the cocking handle. The dimensions of the Para version are not much different from the dimensions of Arska's normal tuning handle, that's why I ended up with this longer version, I specifically wanted ease of grip and certainty, as well as "ambidextrousness" - whether the wings stick to other equipment is, in my opinion, mostly an academic question. The handle is quick and easy to use with either hand and one or two fingers. "Pressure check" works well with the thumb of the right hand. The "upper lip" of the handle protects well from the powder gas pushing back - although I haven't tried it with a silencer. Good choice.

Now, after using it for a while, it's good to evaluate. The loading feeling has changed significantly, an absolutely great crank. The BCM gunfighter also works, but there is a lot of difference between them, and especially the other Arska's "milspec" handle, which was a dead end. I don't shoot with a suppressor, so I can't compare the amount of gases.

I have used many charging handles in my life until I stuck with this one. It's perfect. Stay away from the airborn version unless you really need an even smaller charging handle. I also prefer them over the Raptors, another popular choice, due to their curved nature. The Raptors "guide" a gloved finger inwards and I had parts of my gloves briefly stuck in the gun. Never happened with these due to the way they are curved. They also have a suppressor seal, which is great. A significant improvement over the standard tuning knob. Tuning can be done with either hand, from either side and with one or two fingers on both lugs. A good purchase.
