I haven’t gotten to try the Exped Synmat XP7 MW sleeping pad in tent conditions yet, but only at home indoors. The first impression of the base is good, the surface is suitably “rough”, so there is little slipping. The 7cm thickness of the platform would also seem to be sufficient for sleeping in a side position for a person weighing at least 77kg. The refill bag works great.

Based on a few nights sleeping in a tent, very happy with the choice. The mattress is easy to fill and empty and very comfortable to sleep on. The surface is suitably "rough" and firm. In colder weather, the test can be retested, at which point the thermal properties become tested.
