You can't even imagine winter hiking without these. The seams are in a bit of a bad place and the drawstring buckle presses into the shin bone inside the boot. It's worth checking out the VBL socks from Finnish company Northern Lite

The seams will have to be taped at some point, but the idea is brilliant. When new, they work perfectly and last better than freezer bags. The strain is heavy on the mono, so these won't last for several trips..

RAB quality product, be careful however with the very slightly elongated shape, very wide (not ideal if you have thin feet) and the seam that goes right in the middle under the sock. Very effective for keeping shoes dry.
