7075 Aluminum E2 Grip Kit with double undercut trigger guard for 2011 pattern pistols

Includes grip, drilled and tapped mag release, mainspring housing & "pinned" beavertail.

Beavertail does not have any safety function.

We recommend low profile magazine basepads with this grip (MBX, TTI, etc), depending on tolerances some very tall basepads may contact the magwell insert.

Difference between E2 and Legacy grips: The Legacy has a backstrap contour that is similar to the classic 1911/2011. The E2 backstrap is similar to the CZ or Tanfoglio style. Other than that the grips are identical.

Aluminum E2: 4.7oz
Polymer: 2.8oz

Grips are sold in a raw blasted finish. The grip should be installed and any blending work done before the final coating is applied. Aluminum grips need to be anodized for wear resistance and surface hardness.

The grip itself is great, it fit perfectly with the STI DVC frame, no customisation required. However, the "aggressive" pattern is completely useless and badly designed. The grip surface is effectively cutting the hand like razor blade or barb wire, far beyond necessary. I had to do some serious filing and grindig to make the grip half-usable (after healing the palm surface where skin was effectively removed after 1-2 sessions of dry and live fire), but even then the original pattern is cnc-d in such a way that its difficult to dull the edges of those micro razors, without removing all of the pattern. ALso you need to be aware that regular magwell will not fit this grip, you need to order the Cheely magwell separately, which is annoying and clearly not justified by any advantages or differences in design.
