The Mystery Ranch Komodo Dragon is an enhanced version of the 3 Day Assault pack, designed for longer missions or those who tend to overpack. This versatile pack features the Futura yoke, which adjusts to various torso lengths and accommodates the extra bulk of armor. The BVS system ensures stability over armor, and the removable bolsters reduce the pack's profile when armor is not worn. Inside, the pack includes a MOLLE panel for radio mounts, detailed pockets, three hydration sleeves, and a Spadelock mount for accessories. The waist belt can be stowed away when not in use.

on the Military 3-zip series of Mystery Ranch, you know what you expect and this bag won't let you down. The quality is the same as all their products made In Bozeman MT and so is the attention for the details. I have the ASAP and the 3DAP too. For me the 3DAP is still the most versatile of the series and only slightly smaller than the KD. Sometimes though, I have to carry long items (e.g., a snow shovel or snow probe) and the 3 inches more in height of the Komodo Dragon are very useful. I have an office job and for my back this bag is comfortable when carrying up to 15-17 kg. If you (are younger than me and) have a strong back the structure of the pack would easily support up to 30 kg. For more, I would opt for a pack with a rigid frame (e.g. the blackjack series from Mystery Ranch).
