Still one of the best light weight boot options. Prefer the non goretex versions for summer wear.

Great shoes for everyday use. I have a rather narrow foot and the fit is still good. A membrane-free shoe does get wet, but it retains its properties well and does not start to rub. The membrane-free shoe dries very quickly and breathes well. The only downside is that the straps broke unexpectedly after only 6 months of use. However, I don't know if they accidentally hit something sharp or if they just wore out.

An excellent choice for situations where a stemless casual sneaker is too light, but the maihari is too bulky. When the employer requires these dark-toned military slippers, but the conditions are often sweaty, this membrane-less model has proven to be a top choice. It also dries quickly, as long as you remember to take the insole out. One star off due to rubbing on the inside of the heel side broke within a couple of weeks. Although, this seems to be a feature of Salomon instead of a defect, and when you walk with the shoes for an average of a year without major decay, I can definitely recommend them.

I bought a new pair at the beginning of 2023, the previous ones were probably from 2017 and compared to the previous ones, the new ones are a big disappointment;
1. These lack the ankle loop. You can get by without it, but yes, the link increases the comfort of use quite a lot.
2. Unlike previous models, and even in that official product photo, the opening of the elastic "pocket" on the tongue of the shoe for the extra tape is not downwards, but upwards. That mouth opening is also narrower than before. In the past, it was very easy to get the extra tape into the pocket by simply grabbing it and making a sort of grasping motion with your fingers. Went there and stayed nicely. In this new model, you have to grab the plastic ball on the string and try to sneak it through the mouth opening of the elastic pocket. And it's easy to miss if you don't set it up properly, that is, you'll soon notice when you walk that the lace slaps against the shoe because it has gotten free from there. Again, a small thing, but it affects the comfort of use a lot.
Because of this new system, the buckle of the laces is located at the top of the tongue, i.e. it is practically not against the ankle, because the upper part of the tongue is in a free space without contact with the foot. Previously, when the lock was against the ankle, when I tightened the straps to the appropriate tension, it was just good and it felt natural. Now, since there is no support under the lock, the straps have to be pulled tighter than in the previous model.
And then the last point of complaint; after a couple of months, the shoes have started to creak quite badly when walking.
Salomon HAD a good shoe, but the changes that have been made to it are absolutely incredible. Compared to previous models, a really bad shoe.

Amazing shoes and amazing customer servicd

Third ones for myself, tried with and without film. The drive in is quite short in these, the soles are not the best because they are quite slippery in the winter. You could try different insoles, Salomon's own ones are thin in the heel and with EN insoles a rather tough combination.

The shoes are very suitable for functional shooting. I wouldn’t necessarily go to war with these. However, this is just a slightly stiffer sneaker. The strings lasted well, although I doubted it at first because they are so thin. However, there have been no problems. Really comfortable to wear. Can do all day without fatigue. The tightening is fast, stays very tight and the shoes also breathe well. Nothing bad to say.

After about three weeks of use, I can say that at least for this pair, the money was "wasted." The quick straps feel too bumpy even for such a sturdy shoe (the XA Pro shoe works great). In my own pair, the quality controller of the second shoe is a bit "flexible", the inner seam presses in part when stepping on the toe. In this newer model, a higher base pattern is a plus.
Addition after just over a year of use: The quick straps "broke" in three months and the sole of the other shoe cracked at the toe (type defect in Solomons?).

If you are a woman or a small leg then I do not recommend Solomon's shoes. I have experience of these (the bottoms broke after less than three months of use) as well as the Guest 4D model (I switched to new ones twice and always the same thing, the bottoms broke in less than a year of use every time). There seems to be the same problem with all of Solomon’s shoes: the small sizes go so little that they hang unused in storage for so long that the soles simmer and can’t withstand use. Self size 38 2/3.
