After all, this came to be tested in use. Tokka days after the dump, I triggered an avalanche that dragged along trees and rocks and ended up in a big drop flat. The backpack kept on the surface right from the start and protected my head well when I'm not used to wearing a helmet ...
The smaller model would fit my back best, but a couple of extra liters for the larger model wouldn’t hurt. However, the large pocket of the S-size backpack can hold basic items: a drinking bladder, a down jacket, a fleece and a lunch box. The outer pocket holds a shovel, probe, skins and rods (Black Diamond Carbon Compactor). The splitboard can only be attached to the backpack in "ski mode", but it still stays firmly attached.
