I bought this to replace my previous 60 series Garmin geps, which had started with tricks stuck. In my own main use, in post-dog training, the most important thing is the most accurate track reproducibility possible, and that’s where this works as well as my excellent 60-series device. I don't like geocaching, so the features associated with it are useless to me.
The worst thing about the device is the completely unfortunate battery life. Although I always try to charge it just before I take it off-road, after just a couple of hours the charge level has waned to a low level. On longer trips, I don’t dare keep it on all the time, but I only turn it on when I feel I need it and I don’t use the camera at all. Spare batteries must be present at all times.
With Bluetooth, the device pairs with Garmin Connect, but Basecamp and Express seem to require a USB stick, don’t work on BT or via wifi. In fact, I didn't figure out where that wifi could even be used here (wifi works by itself, that is, it finds the network, but those Garmin's own softwares only gloom through the fan ??)
In summary: A device that would otherwise be just fine, but poor battery life makes it annoyingly bad. A little too many features at the expense of reliable operation. The camera is useless, especially as its use consumes even more batteries, so now I would buy a cheaper cameraless model myself.
