These models are specially built for the most demanding situations, where ruggedness and low weight are critical – for example Arctic expeditions, ski sailing, the use of dog teams, etc. Fjellpulken cooperates closely with other cutting-edge researchers and leading experts on vacuum moulding technology. Since its very start, Fjellpulken has helped rewrite the history of Arctic exploration. From the Norwegian North Pole Expedition in 1990 with Børge Ousland, Geir Randby and Erling Kagge, to Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen’s historic crossing of the Antarctic in 2001. Fjellpulken´s vacuum moulded hulls have always been able to take the rough punishment of these journeys – and they’ve never provided reason for cutting an expedition short. That’s saying a lot when you’re stretching the limits so far.
