Big Agnes Skyline UL Chair

I have been using this chair now for a couple of years extensively.. Mostly when camping and tail gating. Here are my positive and negative impressions: + good built quality. Chair is not excessively bending and flexing while sitting on it + fabric is sturdy and and hold up well. Compared to a new chair (we have a couple of those) you can see, that the fabric stretched a bit at the corners, where the frame holders/pockets are located. + compared to other chairs, the seat is a wider and the seating position higher. That makes getting on and off the chair much easier + setting up process is self explanatory => colour coding, grooves for correct setup + chair sits stable on the ground, because legs curve slightly outwards + storage bag is well designed - feet sink into ground - at lower temps it gets quite cold => insulated pad After 2,5 years the frame broke, but that was most likely caused by a teenager, who‘d mostly slump onto the chair. I contacted Big Agnes directly and they promised to send me a new frame. But it seems like, that they no spare parts in stock and replacement parts need to be ordered separately. So I am waiting for their answer. All in all I would buy this chair again. Pretty expensive, but it works for me.

Tuntuu laadukkaalta ja painoonsa nähden tukevalta retkituolilta. Istumakorkeus on erittäin hyvä. Pikkuisen sivuraudat osuvat kylkiin, mutta näin on ollut muissakin kokeilemissani retkituolissa.

Previously using Helinox chair one but this one is more comfortable for me as it higher sitting position and not sink in soft ground as sand.

Easy to erect and very comfortable for a lightweight backpacking chair, especially as I’m over 6 feet

This chair has one major problem. Legs sink into soft ground. If you use it on snow, mud or in bog then it is a problem. I know that now there is a camping chair from Nemo that uses its stuff sack as a base where you can insert the legs and it will help the chair stay on top of soft ground. If you intend to use your chair on soft ground then it is a valuable point to keep in mind when choosing a chair.
