Super effective, fun and versatile machine, but you need to purchase the grinding attachment gear for sure if you want the full experience. You can the use this mini beltsander in a lots og different way. Very practical! Don't begin with you most expensive knife, and have som patience when you use it. I still preferre sharpening manual on stones with my best knives, but sometimes I use the mashine fx to fix a broken tip or to a repair job. If you like the convex micro bevel on your go to knife, you dont get a y better than this.

I THINK it's worth the upgrade and paying for the extra to have all variable angles. I sharpen some knives with a crazy 17deg
