The Defence 4 is the most popular and best-selling all-round sleeping bag with excellent weight to stuff size and performance ratio. It is a well-established, 3-season sleeping bag that has proven to be 100% reliable on cold nights both in the wilderness and in snow caves. A protection flap on the outer side of the zipper keeps out wind and wetness.
The outer shell is a super-light, highly resistant, microfibre nylon with a fine microporous coating which makes it water-repellent. There is a generous draft tube on the inside of the zipper to prevent heat loss at the zipper.
Isolation: G-LOFT Duro, 100% PES Outer: 145G/m², Inner: 145g/m²
Outer shell: Shellproof (100% PA + PU Coating)
Inner lining: Shelltrans (100% PA)

Did an extensive research before getting this sleeping bag. I also own the Carinthia Tropen bag and Im planning to use them both together (not tested yet). Overall, Im very happy with Defence 4.

Excellent quality sleeping bag, in cold weather I use the same Lafkan Tropen bag inside. The Velcro in the face opening area sometimes scratches and stings, otherwise nothing special.
Sized enough that our son is 175 cm tall and 73 kg and I took a size M, i.e. 185 cm sleeping bag. I can fit inside just fine, but sometimes it feels cramped if I hide completely inside the bag so that the hiking pillow is also included. Although the feeling of tightness disappears by bending my legs a little.
If I were to buy a new sleeping bag, I would probably take a size larger as a precaution.
