Reworking the contemporary Engineered Bedale in a robust wax finish, the Ashby is a stylish, practical winter-ready jacket.
Constructed in Barbour's signature 6oz Sylkoil waxed cotton, with a matte finish and a comfortable, lived-in feel. Slightly more tailored than the Bedale, yet still allowing room for essential winter layering, classic features include a storm fly front with hardy stud fastenings, a smart sit-down cord collar with throat strap, angled handwarmer pockets and two generous bellow pockets.
Inspired by Barbour's Scottish heritage, the iconic Original Classic Tartan trims the Ashby's lining and inside pockets, adding unmistakable authenticity. Available in four classic colours, this functional jacket features an interactive front zip and is fully compatible with Barbour's optional zip-in liners, making it incredibly versatile and ideal for everyday use.

My expectations were not disappointed. Just as I wanted.

I am happy with Barbour quality and style. The jacket is practical and perfect for spring, "Finnish summer" and autumn. Even for Roteva, the jacket fits well, as long as you shorten or turn the sleeves. In some Barbour jackets, L is a sufficient size for me (177 cm/ 95 kg), but in this model XL is suitable.

The cut is slimmer than other models, which is why I took one size up. Fits under a sweater, but still isn't too baggy to wear with jeans. Compared to the Beaufort, the slightly shorter hem covers your own loose jacket, but not the suit jacket. The lining of the sleeves is polyester, so even though they keep water, they push through the cold and the hands sweat more easily. I've only worn it in a light drizzle on a dog run, but so far I've been very satisfied with the purchase.
