XA FORCES MID is a lightweight, all conditions boot for moving fast in the most critical situations. Based on Salomon's iconic XA PRO 3D, this special forces oriented boot is more durable in every way, and has a beefier outsole.
Durability
Every component gets reinforcement, from the stitching to the mesh to the laces to the outsole.
Grip
An updated Contagrip® Sole has wider lugs for more ground contact, and a pronounced break in front of the heel for climbing ladders and descending hills.
Lightweight
Even with the added durability, XA FORCES MID is still the lightest shoe in its category.

Excellent shoes, very comfortable. Stayed dry through mild rain, vax should help with heavier rain. In comparision to "civilian" Salomons from ~2018 these are half a size bigger.

The shoes are light, fit well and are comfortable on the foot.
The lacing with quick-release buckles and top-fillable lock pockets is ingenious and keeps the laces out of the way. The only downside is the lack of a pull strap on the Achilles. Now you need a shoehorn or you sacrifice a finger when putting on the shoes because the shoe doesn't open enough and you don't want to break your heel.| Overall rating |
