Nikwax Tech Wash 300 ml

This detergent is designed for washing water-repellent outdoor equipment, for example gore-tex shell jackets or, for example, synthetic tents. This detergent washes the product with low foam without leaving detergent residues that are left by normal detergents. If detergent residues remain in the product, it weakens the product's water repellency. After washing, the product should be impregnated with the impregnating agent designed for it (see impregnating agents). The product should be saturated again after every 6-8 washes.

Microscopic dirt is constantly secreted from the air and the body (especially sweat), which before long clogs the pores of the membrane and deteriorates the vapor permeability properties. The garment should be washed from time to time with a clean soapy solution, which removes blockages and restores the vapor permeability of the membrane. Under no circumstances should you use normal detergents, because the additives they contain will clog the pores.

Do not use fabric softener when washing waterproof and breathable products. Because it blocks the pores of their membrane material.
